the world is awful and it is becoming worse. the student intifada is our brightest light, and this is a dim one. we are surrounded by bombs but one can find only a single candle. this will get us somewhere but it is unlikely that where we end up is where we need to be.
i want to write on digital embodyment. my thesis: every program creates both a world and a body, and this is why trans people are drawn to it --- a chance to have another body.
in "i saw the tv glow" we see the mad hope transition represents. you have to kill yourself because you must have absolute faith. this faith could rightly be called an ideological illusion, but it remains necessary if one is to seek themselves in an embodyment (not digital this time) which is the most disgusting. in order to confidently place yourself into the degendered category one must be willing to view themselves as this thing. and just like in the movie, this fall inverts everything, and you are flung out of your self-dug grave into your body. i'm quite tired. i hope you're not taking me too seriously.
